According to the Affordable Care Act, employers are required to provide a notice of coverage options to each employee by October 1, 2013, regardless of plan enrollment status, whether the employee is part-time or full-time. Employers are not, however required to provide a separate notice to dependents or other individuals who are not employees but may become eligible for coverage under the plan.
No matter what your situation, we can help you understand everything you need to know about the new law.
For 2014, the department will consider a notice to be provided at the time of hiring if the notice is provided within 14 days of an employee's start date. Most importantly, make sure you are working with a professional team for all the correct information.
